“This was the day that changed my life forever. This day I didn’t realize that I was hurting my children by what I thought was the “right thing to do.”

My little one in this picture received her Hep A vaccine at her 2 year well visit. Two weeks later was having rapid heart rate and belly breathing. Was not sick, or anything. She spent the night in hospital for observation because after two back to back breathing treatments and a steroid, her breathing did not improve.

We were released the following day with instructions to continue steroid and treatments and within a week or so it stabilized. Fast forward two weeks from there she began screaming and crying in the middle of the night. Waking up in extreme belly pain and leg pain.

Over the next month she couldn’t sit on her butt, she couldn’t climb a chair or on a couch, things she was so good at before with no fear. Between all this time and constant pain, no sleep etc we went and saw our ped who kept telling me she was constipated.

I begged for MRI or some kind of imaging and she basically said i was crazy. She was to the point she could no longer walk or take a few steps without falling down. She issued blood work and everything was normal, no indication of her fighting off infection.

I got fed up and took her to ER with little help there too. They did a X-ray and did show her backed up. For almost a month she was fed miralax 2 full caps a day and was not working. Finally self referred myself to a GI doctor since my ped was shit. He listened to me for ONE hour. Immediately ordered an MRI because he could tell the fear in me. Took two weeks to schedule MRI.

Within hours they called and told me they found something on her spine to take her to hospital she was being admitted. Next day she under went another MRI and spinal tap.

She was diagnosed with Guillain Barre Syndrome at two years old. She spent 6 days at the hospital receiving IVIG. She at that point could barely walk without falling over. Her speech was affected and she was slurring words. IVIG thank god helped her.

It’s been almost a year since hospital stay and me advocating for my girls. I’m so sick of people posting vaccinate your damn kids. I did, and look where that ended us up. Since this she has brain lesions that will hopefully fade in time. We have seen oncology who don’t believe it’s cancer. Looking at this post, if I could go back to the beginning I would of changed it all.
