A mother from South Africa has shared on Twitter that her son, Arthur Grice, only 22 years old died as a result of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine Janssen.

The adenovirus viral vector COVID-19 vaccine has been associated with many deaths in young persons, including mother of two Jessica Wilson, 37, who died from vaccine-induced thrombotic thrombocytopenia, and Eric Otero who participated in the Johnson & Johnson clinical trial whose health suddenly deteriorated after getting the vaccine, leading to his death. Anne VanGeest, 35, died 11 days after the Janssen vaccine from a blood clot in her brain.

Arthur’s mother writes that he was a healthy man prior to getting the vaccine, and she details how he rapidly declined in the weeks following the single dose, and ultimately died.

Unfortunately, like so many others, the decision to get vaccinated literally cost him his life. And being 22 years old, he had a far less than 0.1% risk of death from the virus itself.

The young man developed a condition called paralytic ileus:

Paralytic ileus occurs when the muscle contractions that move food through your intestines are temporarily paralyzed. It’s a functional problem of the muscles and nerves that mimics an intestinal obstruction even when nothing is obstructing them.

His symptoms began right after getting the vaccine. Arthur died in his mother’s arms on February 24, 2022, just six weeks after getting the vaccine.

She writes:

My son, 22, died 24.2.22. 6 weeks after his 1st J&J vaccine. The day after the shot his nose started running and he did not feel well. He had episodes of vomiting and the 13.2.22 was his last ‘healthy’ day. His health deteriorated very very fast his last weeks.

He went to the Dr where they treated him for a stomach ulcer first. He was vomiting the whole time and severly dehydrated with severe stomach pain. I took him back to another Dr a few days later and told him he had the vaccine, and with a stomach xray they confirmed there’s no movement in his bowel.

They treated him for paralytic ileus. My son had difficulty swallowing, he could not eat, he had no stools, he stomach was bulging and he was still vomiting. His whole body was shutting down, his kidneys, brain, etc he looked like a cancer patient.

The hospital released him on a fluid diet, I took him back but he died in my arms. They wanted to resuscitate him, but all that vomit came out his nose and filled his lungs, nothing they could do for him. This Pic was 2 days before his death. He was severely dehydrated and his body shutting down. He complained he could not sleep since he got the vaccine, his brain did not switch off and he felt strange. We are still waiting for the pathology report as all organs was sent for histology. The second Pic was his normal healthy self.

I’m thankful for the courage that this mother has in sharing her son’s story. We all hope this heartbreak is not for nothing. Whether it saves a life, it changes a policy, it plants a seed in someone’s mind that vaccines have risks–it doesn’t begin to bring justice, but it is a turning point. We share these stories because we have hope for society.
